1. #NotAtISTE? 3 ways to attend virtually (on any budget) ow.ly/xZcLw#ISTE2014#ISTEBlog
  • This provided a document that listed the 3 different ways you can keep up to date on what is going on at ISTE 2014 even though you are not there in person. It's a great way to stay engaged on what is going on at different conferences.

2. Web 2.0 tools from @iste, this from 2010 but still applies ow.ly/y5V3O#edtech#edteachchat#edchat#k12#web2.0 #web2.0chat
  • This was a document that had a variety of web2.0 tools. There were many of the tools that I had never heard of so was interesting to go through and learn about new ones.

3. Don't have the resources for an additional #STEM field trip? Take a #VirtualFieldTrip#edchat#techow.ly/y5VLr
  • With funding always being an issue, virtual field trips are something I would like to use in my classroom. Science is an area that we don't concentrate on much, so I think this would be a great way for kids to see Science in their environments. This tweet provided a variety of science virtual field trips that I think the students would enjoy.

1. 5 Simple Ways To Inspire Innovation In Learning ow.ly/3lROn6#edchat;
  • This article referenced 5 ways we can inspire learning in our classrooms. The top 3 ways were things that I'm currently learning about in my classes this summer; technology, try new techniques, and small groups. So reading this article was another great reminder to always keep students engaged and try new things.

2. nowRe @KnowReMath;The 7 Key Elements of Personalized Learning #personalizedlearning #edchat #edtech #math #iste2014 about.knowre.com/2014/06/the-7-… via @KnowReMath
  • This article went along with the previous tweet I had found, but it goes more in depth. I think seven was the one I reflected on the most; letting students take ownership over learning.

3. Madeleine Cuff @tinymaddie Some 57% of children aged 3-5 can operate an app, but only 14% can tie their own shoes #edtech14 #digitalkids
  • This made me think of my grandma making a comment when my son was born 8 years ago; she said "Pretty soon these kids are going to be born with cell phones attached to them." It made me laugh at the time, but it's so true, we can usually depend on a young child to know how to operate a piece of technology before they can do many things, such as tying their own shoes!

1. 11 Ways to Use Technology in the Classroom. #edchat#elearningpic.twitter.com/G7wa6lwTeg
  • I liked some of the different things that were on here. Some of them weren't the "traditional" things you see. Such as doing PD on Wednesday nights in your PJ's by getting on twitter and watcher EdChat!

2. 12-Year-Old Who Designed A Low-Cost Braille Printer From Legos buff.ly/1lyXs90#shouldhappeninschool#edchat#ISTE2014 fr @willrich45
  • What an amazing thing this kid did. I don't many 12 year old's that would do something like this!

3. Author Isaac Asimov: "The day you stop learning is the day you begin decaying." #edtech14#justsayin
  • It goes back to the old saying "You learn something new every day". If you don't learn something new daily, they you are not enriching your mind.

I liked this card! So wanted to save it!

1. Quality work requires time, effort, and risk. What steps can we take to foster these conditions/habits with students? #edchat#essd40p
  • I take this as if we want our kids to be successful and create quality work, we need to put for the effort to help them accomplish this.

2. Emily Vickery @ehvickery Only 17% of high schools do not offer online classes, prins say #ISTE2014 More #speakupdata @ ow.ly/3lXnc6 via @ProjectTomorrow
  • I know our school is one of them that does not offer online classes. We have offered DDN classes for a couple students that wanted to take something other than Spanish. Online classes are great for the schools that are in remote locations so those students can access other classes than what is offered at their school.

3. Pip @reworkpip Making education: 3D printers bringing lessons to life | Factor buff.ly/1i8LK47 #edtech #3dprinting @UltimakerCREATE #edtech14
  • I can't imagine using a 3D printer! I think it's a great concept and would be neat to use with those students who like to work on hands on activities.

1. #Art in Schools Inspires Tomorrow's Creative Thinkers | @edutopia: buff.ly/V58Mij#edchat
  • I thought this was a great quote for today since we will be discussing Art. I would also like to show it to our principal because she told a teacher this year that we are not to be doing art in the classroom, there isn't time for it and it's not part of the curriculum.

2. What does leadership mean to you? Find out what #edtech#startup and #education leaders say - edtechwomen.com/blog/2014/6/10…#ISTE2014
  • I liked this because I felt that it goes along with one of my other classes I'm currently taking on leadership. I liked going through and reading the different ways people describe what leadership means to them.

3. TeachersWithApps ‏@TeachersApps 7m
The Technology is Brilliant but the Magic Happens When Teachers Learn to Let Go... http://bit.ly/1q15OIg #ipaded #edtech
  • This went along with journal article I read for today. There are lots of devices in schools, but teachers are afraid to use them. If they start using them and then let go and let the students do the learning magic will happen!

1. CSSE - SCÉÉ@CSSESCEE Should Principals Be Treated Like CEOs? ow.ly/3m7enR #caned #bced #edchat #canpse #onted #albed
  • I don't feel Principals should be treated like CEO's. They are part of the team so should demonstrate the leadership qualities to make others feel empowered. I feel if we treat them like CEO's then they wont be quality principals.
2. Greg O'Connor @gregoconnor
Is it time to move exams into the 21st century? pda.sciencealert.com.au/features/20142… @setsig @Spectronics #LD #edtech #ISTE2014
  • I think in order to complete the exams online and prepare the students they need to do other exams and assignments using technology so they don't get such anxiety when they go to do it at testing time.

3. Jesse Snow@jessesnow01

2. **Office of Ed Tech** @OfficeofEdTech There are many online resources on the transition to digital learning. Which did you ACTUALLY use? Send us links! #edchat #ISTE2014
  • One of the handouts I found was the 5 common mistakes schools make with having iPads.

3. Campus Suite@campussuitecms Why schools should be using Instagram | Campus Suite Blog #edtech ow.ly/yrlrq 10:50am · 25 Jun 2014 · Hoots
  • I'm not very familiar with Instagram, but have heard that it's a great tool to use in the classroom. So I'm interested to start using it more and see what I think of it.
